The financial impact of Boosterthon Fun Runs can be seen across the campus at Banks Road
Elementary School in Raleigh, NC. Fundraising profits have created an opportunity to purchase
special equipment so students can experience the joy of starting a morning news program.
Students also get to run and play on improved soccer fields and have the benefit of great
volleyball nets, with the excitement of more playground upgrades on their way!
Like so many schools across the country, Banks Road has faced a lot of challenges since the
pandemic began, particularly being understaffed and facing financial strain. As they headed back
to school this fall, the school was in need of a pick-me-up.
“Coming back to school after a tumultuous pandemic year, our school family needed to celebrate
being back together,” said Principal Simmons wearing a blue tutu at the school’s August Fun
Run. “Boosterthon was the perfect way to do so.”
The Boosterthon Fun Run was the first time many parents were allowed on campus in more than
a year. As a result, the Fun Run was a huge success, exceeding the school’s all-time financial
goal by profiting more than $30,000.
Beyond the financial profit, the fundraiser served as an incredible boost of morale for students
and staff as well as parents. “Parents were thrilled to attend the Fun Run and we almost
doubled our financial goal. Every year, I think my Booster team can’t get any better and then I
am blown away by their enthusiasm and support,” the principal said.
Banks Road Elementary School has many more shining moments on the horizon and
Boosterthon is excited and honored to be a part of the impact!
